European e-waste dumped in Ghana

New DanWatch report documents an uncontrolled flow of e-waste from Europe to Ghana. UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy and Spain are the top exporters.

The European Union has introduced rules to avoid that old European e-waste ends up in landfills in developing countries. Despite this regulation, a hidden flow of old electronic waste to East Africa continues.
