Sydinvest gets called to order after DanWatch disclosure

The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority has in a public reprimand established that Sydinvest was out of order when marketing the portfolio Klima & Miljø (Climate & Environment) as green without informing that investments were made in uranium mines and in coal power. A DanWatch investigation from the autumn of 2009 lead the Danish Consumer Council to report Sydinvest for misleading green marketing.

Despite their low tax contributions, the mining industry nonetheless does contribute to Ghana's economy. However, the industry also entails large socio-economic and environmental costs for the country. The current tax revenues are not sufficient to cover the costs.
